1. Task Status:

- Fall break was on Monday and Tuesday.
- Installed RH Linux 8.0 on Braun, Barlow, and Baker.
- Homework 4 - Part 2 is basically done.
* Firewall, NAT, portsentry, and ssh2 are installed and set up on Braun (our gateway machine).
* Norton Antivirus is installed on Archie and sweep schedule is set up.
* syslogd daemon is activated on Braun (our gateway machine).
* NetSaint and nmap are installed on Braun.
* Initial snmp information retrieval system/script is setup.
- Upgraded/Updated webpages.
- Continue reading RFC's and product specs for the project.
- Continue revising the team schedule for the semester.

4. Problem List:

- Homework #4 - Part 2 was due right after the break. Most of us spent all the time working on this homework. Thus, not much reading for the project was done during this time. We will try to finish the required reading during this weekend.
- Netsaint was installed in the gateway machine. However, it doesn't seem to work yet. We will look into this problem right away.
- There was an error running snmp on monet. Snmpinfo returned a request timeout when it was run. We believe that this could be because snmp might not be allowed back onto monet. Using snmpwalk we were able to successfully talk to the switch and monet, getting all of the variables one could ever ask for. We did originally have an issue with a request timeout until we realized that our iptables was not allowing the snmp back through. This is what makes us thing that this might be the problem on monet.
- Our schedule does not reflect the change of the homework due dates. We will fix this shortly.
